Nice to visit.. disappointed by the walk through tunnel as you can see the roof above water and it wasn't very clear.. more careful design of this area would have greatly improved the whole feel of the place..

Very well thought out and laid out aquarium. Highly educational and interesting talks given throughout the day, well worth attending. Plenty of opportunities for added extras you can pay for such as behind the scenes tours etc. The turtle rehab centre looks great for example and is very reasonable. They feed the animals in the exhibits at many of the talks which is really fascinating. We zipped through in 3.5 hours but you could easily spend more time.

Large glass-fronted tanks with well lit exhibits. The building is on several levels so must be very strong! The lighting is better than on the naturally lit reef. The restaurant has good food. Well done guys.

First time at an aquarium and I must say it was a pleasant experience. The marine life was great to see and they had plenty of room to move. The big tank at the end was amazing.

Such a great place for the kids! The first thing we did when we arrived in Cairns was come here. The staff were really kind and helpful and easily answered our questions. They were not there to sell products but to ensure that we had a great time. The tanks that all the water life were in was kept really well. Really clean and crystal clear. The coral was just amazing and there were a few shows that were running too. There was lots of information next to each exhibit so you knew what was going. There was also an area where you could touch starfish and shark eggs. The kids loved it! The only thing I didnt understand about this place is why there were snakes here. Im not a fan of snakes but Im sure everyone else enjoyed those exhibits! Lol also once you buy a ticket you can use it for the whole day, so you can leave to have lunch and then come back later. This is handy if you want to attend the shows and miss it. Really a great place to bring the kids.
