We hired a Barina for 2 days while our cruise ship was in Cairns in Jan 2019. We had a ball, the car was fine, service was great, and it was what I expected for a car that was that cheap. We had booked the car for 2 days but the operator charged us a bit less as we were only going to be able to use it for 1 1/2 days. We saw the speedo roll over the 200,000 km mark and have the pic to prove it. Great value.
I booked with Rent A Bomb Cairns using their website. I received phone call from Cameron who was very patient and guided me in choosing a good car for my 3 days car hire during Christmas period. I arrived a bit late to collect my car but he was very professional and checked everything before I drove off. The car was second hand but had strong air con, smooth drive, music player worked - had no issues with the car at all. I was nervous (after reading previous reviews) that my bond won't be refunded but this wasn't the case. My bond was refunded. It was raining very heavy when I went to return car. Cameron even asked if I need a cab. I highly recommend others to use Rent a Bomb. Please note: wait for give them a ring or ring them straight especially during Christmas as they were really busy. I booked mine in September :)
The operator was disgustingly rude and incredibly unprofessional. I followed the instructions through the website, chose an available car and booked it. I received a callback from a rude man who then tried to tell me that the site books cars without checking availability. When I tried to explain that there were available cars showing on the website, I was rudely cut off by the operator telling me to leave feedback on the website. I don't recommend doing business with this shop and I will be advising others to avoid this place.
If I could give them no stars I would. I booked a car received the confirmation email only to turn up today, xmas eve to be told they dont have a car for me. I eventually found a car at enterprise cars who went above and beyond to assist, as you can imagine cars for 4 days on xmas eve at a reasonable price were almost impossible.
We hired a car from rent a bomb Cairns we found them to be very friendly polite and courteous. Excellent customer service explained everything to us of where we could drive the car. The car we hired was very reliable and clean and cheap to run. Upon return of the car we ask them to call a taxi for us to the airport and they said they will drop us off there. That's what I call excellent customer service. Highly recommend.
